When Security Essen opens its doors from 27 to 30 September, a comprehensive framework programme awaits visitors to the international trade fair for civil security, including many new features. Just some of the highlights include a mock-up building showcasing innovations from the smart security sector, the premiere of the “Networked Security” trade conference, the Fire Protection Day, training & development initiatives and the fascinating Action Center, too.
In collaboration with the German Federal Association for Security Technology (BHE – Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik), Security Essen is bringing the topic of smart security into focus: a specially-built mock-up building in Hall 7 occupying over 200 square metres means that trade visitors can actually experience the innovations being presented. Products and solutions are on show, divided into the areas of office buildings and private living space, to demonstrate how smart houses receive guests and how they react if the property is broken into or if there is a fire. There is a particular emphasis on representing entire scenarios with the associated process chain here: if the house is broken into, a motion sensor is activated, shutters come down, the outside light is illuminated and video recordings are captured which are then transmitted to mobile devices.
The “Networked Security” trade conference makes its premiere
The first trade conference on the subject of networked security, which will take place on Wednesday 28 September, has met with a strong international response. To date, trade visitors from 24 nations have registered, who wish to find out more about the increased security requirements in the Industry 4.0 era and a higher degree of networking. Speakers will include experts from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security and the Professor of IT Security at the Institute of Information Technology at the University of Bonn. All Security Essen trade visitors are entitled to participate and may register on www.security-essen.de.
The most impressive innovations are sought for the Security Innovation Award
On the first day of the trade fair, the closely-guarded secret surrounding the most pioneering innovations being showcased at Security Essen 2016 will be revealed: the winners of this year’s Security Innovation Awards will be honoured in a special ceremony. 84 applicants had submitted their documentation – following a tense final round, the jury selected the winners from 15 finalists in the categories of Technology & Products, Services and Fire Protection.
Every day during the trade fair, information will be provided by experts in the security-forum
Information to go: every day during the trade fair, talks, live demonstrations and round tables will be held in the popular security-forum in Hall 7 by associations, manufacturers and practitioners to offer answers to current security questions. As part of this, the white hat hacker, Gunnar Parola, will be giving a demonstration in conjunction with the Institute for Internet Security on how easily attackers can manipulate or steal data. Hendrik Große Lefert, the Security Officer of the German Football Association, will be providing information on qualifications for security and safety staff in professional football. The German Federal Association for the Security Industry and Messe Essen make a commitment to the next generation of industry trainees
For the third time, the world-leading trade fair for civil security is holding a Training and Development Day, in cooperation with the German Federal Association for the Security Industry (BDSW-Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft). On 27 September, a comprehensive programme awaits trainees, students and those converting to work in the industry. The event will give the next generation of trainees the opportunity to learn about the security industry at close quarters and to make valuable contacts with companies.
Initiatives and information in the Action Center and on the Fire Protection Day
The Action Center in Freigelände 2 (Outdoor Area 2) will also be a real draw for visitors this year. Exhibitors will hold spectacular live presentations to demonstrate the level of security offered by their products in an impressive way. Amongst other items, the line-up includes attacks on bullet-proof glass as well as explosions. The Thursday of the trade fair will be dedicated to fire prevention and firefighting. On the Fire Protection Day, Essen Fire Brigade and exhibitors will showcase complex rescue techniques and innovations which prevent fires or help to fight them effectively.
